Tuesday, October 8th - Day Zero - Arrival

Our staff will be on hand to aid any early arrivals at the Scout School headquarters hotel.


Wednesday, October 9th - Day One

MORNING: Classroom training. Learn the basics of what to look for in a player and how to evaluate their talents. Introduction to grading tools and the overall player.

AFTERNOON: Continued classroom training. Instruction on game preparedness and how to properly take in-game notes.

LATE AFTERNOON: Head out on our chartered bus to the Peoria Sports Complex for the Arizona Fall League’s Scottsdale Scorpions at Peoria Javelinas 6:35 PM game.

EVENING: Accompanied by our team of Major League Baseball scouts, evaluate players during pre-game work and during the AFL night game.


Thursday, October 10th - Day Two

MORNING: Review your Wednesday game notes. Continue to learn what to look for in a player. Introduction into player projection as well as how to grade on present and future scales.

AFTERNOON: Get into a deeper discussion about player projection, grading and report writing.

LATE AFTERNOON: Head out on our bus to Sloan Park for the AFL’s Salt River Rafters at Mesa Solar Sox 6:35 PM game.

EVENING: Accompanied by our team of Major League Baseball scouts, evaluate players during pre-game work and during the AFL night game.


Friday, October 11th - Day Three

MORNING: Review your Thursday game notes with our Major League Baseball scouts, and learn to apply them to player projection with an introduction to report writing. Continue instruction on player evaluation and their future projected abilities.

AFTERNOON: Delve deeper into grading tools and the overall player.

LATE AFTERNOON: Head out to Salt River Fields for the AFL’s Surprise Saguaros at Salt River Rafters 6:35 PM game.

EVENING: Accompanied by our team of Major League Baseball scouts, evaluate players during pre-game work and during the AFL night game.


Saturday, October 12th - Day Four

MORNING: Review your Friday game notes with our Major League Baseball scouts and get deep into player reviews; breaking down their tools.

AFTERNOON: Learn more about player projection and report writing in the classroom.

LATE AFTERNOON: Head out to Salt River Fields for the AFL’s Fall Stars Game at starting at 5:05 PM.

EVENING: Continue to put what you’ve learned into practice at this special game with our team of Major League Baseball Scouts.


Sunday, October 13th - Day Five

MORNING: Review of all the Scout School lessons and answer remaining questions.

LATE-MORNING: As a final element of Scout School, for those interested, we will discuss how to best pursue employment in professional baseball.  We will wrap up official Scout School activities by Noon.

AFTERNOON: Closing lunch that will wrap up by 1:00 PM. (The airport is ten minutes away.) If you plan to stay over another night and need Arizona Fall League tickets we will provide them (as many as you need within reason) at no charge.
